As Greyhounds, guitarist Andrew Trube and keyboardist Anthony Farrell have been making music and touring for nearly 20 years, refining and developing a sound Trube calls “Hall and Oates meet ZZ Top.”
Between Farrell’s old school “SoCal” feel with vocals that would melt the hardest of women, and Trube’s goofy East Texas “slap-a-jank” guitar and vocals, the two have found a groove and a sound that can’t be matched. It’s as if oil and water mixed and had a big ol’ party.
Over the years the duo has written songs that have been recorded and performed live by artists such as Derek Trucks, Susan Tedeschi, and Ruthie Foster, to name a few. Additionally, Trube and Farrell lend their studio production talents to emerging artists in the Austin community and beyond.
When not performing as greyhounds you can catch Trube and Farrell with JJ Grey & MOFRO helping out on keys and guitar.

Warm Sugar sings it sweet and sultry. “Give a spin to Warm Sugar‘s self-titled release, and (especially for a 1970s kid, like your Austin Music Minute host) it conjures those smokey, wood-paneled barroom spirits of a distinctive ’70s-country/FM radio/Gilley’s era. The ATX band turns up the heat with their blend of classic country sounds and Southern soul, describing it as the kind of vibe that leaves Willie, Bobbie Gentry, Neil Young and Linda Ronstadt coursing through your veins.” ~Laurie Gallardo.
