Marfa Crush @12:30am, Pudge Zeppelin @11:15pm, Oliver Future @10pm – $15 cover @9:00pm. No advance tickets. 21+ only.
Local upstarts, Marfa Crush, have been making their rounds around the Austin club circuit. The music is straightforward, with psychedelic sounds floating through the mix, but the songs don’t fit easily into any category. “I was tired of being in straight up rock bands and wanted to do something different,” says Marlon Sexton, the group’s leader. The music carries a lot of emotional weight and breaks out of the verse/chorus straightjacket, with intros and outros that are spacy and atmospheric.

Prepare to witness the return of four well fed warriors, fresh from Vahalla, Pudge Zeppelin. A heroic display of chutzpah – a shameful display of booze-drenched self absorbtion and plenty of groupies & mudsharks. In the spirit of Tolkein and wizardry, the Pudge brings all the rock glory of the real Zeppelin, only more jiggles. Pudge Zeppelin delivers unrelenting, ass-kicking covers of Led Zeppelin’s coolest songs ever.
Oliver Future is reuniting in some configuration! Forging an eclectic, spacy, ever-so-slightly funky sound that nodded to indie acts. Musical intensity is their métier, but they leaven their rock with accents like trip-hop to create a thoroughly modern sound that still works within the Brit-rock tradition.
